Traffic & Parking Regulations

FLCC offers students, employees, and the public free parking in designated lots. Read the regulations below to learn more about parking at our main campus in Canandaigua.

Student Parking

Free parking in our A and G Lots is available for students and the general public. Students do not need to pay for parking or get a permit to park in these two lots. Students are not permitted to park in D Lot, which is for faculty and staff during work hours.

Employee Parking

D Lot (located behind the main building) is reserved for permit parking. Vehicles without a valid permit will receive tickets, and authorities may tow them. FLCC employees can apply for a parking permit by contacting Campus Police at (585) 785-1900.

A permit is not required to park in D Lot after 3 p.m., Monday through Friday, and all day on the weekend.

Loading Dock

C Lot is a loading dock and a no parking zone. Vehicles parked in C Lot will receive tickets and may get towed without notice.

Handicap Parking

Vehicles with a valid handicap parking permit can park in designated handicap parking areas. Vehicles not displaying a valid permit will receive a violation. For some violations, vehicles may be wheel-locked or towed without notice at the owner's expense.

  • Temporary handicap permits may be obtained through the Office of Campus Police by submitting an application and a doctor's statement of need.
  • NYS handicap permits are available for longer periods and may be obtained through your town or city clerk's office.

Fire Lanes

It's never okay to park in a fire lane. We don't know when there will be a fire. The same thing applies to all reserved parking areas. These areas are for their specified reasons only.

Bicycles

Park bicycles in the racks provided near the Library. Do not bring them into the building. We recommend using a bike lock to secure your bike to the rack.

ATVs

Do not drive snowmobiles and ATVs on campus except for authorized instructional use.

Overnight Parking

Overnight parking is prohibited without prior authorization. Disabled vehicles may remain on campus for up to four days with prior notification to the Campus Police Office. Abandoned vehicles will be towed at the owner's expense.

Fines

Parking Violation Fine
Handicap Space $50
Traffic Sign Violation, Wheel Lock $25
Fire Lane, Reserved Space $15
Lawn, Sidewalk, Roadway, Other $10
Towing $100 cash plus tax and storage

Pay Your Parking Ticket

Submit payment for parking violations to the Student Accounts Office. Failure to submit payment may result in wheel locking or towing your vehicle at your expense. Your grades or transcripts may also be withheld.

Contesting a Parking Ticket

Appeal violations by submitting a form to Campus Police within seven days of receiving the violation. After reviewing, we will decide whether to void or sustain the summons. Call (585) 785-1900 with any questions. Hopewell Town Court adjudicates traffic violations.

Campus Police Officers have the legal authority to enforce and make arrests for all NYS Vehicle and Traffic Laws. They also enforce all parking and traffic regulations adopted by the College
